Databricks Genie

Databricks Genie is a conversational data feature built into the Databricks Lakehouse platform. It lets business users ask questions about data stored in Delta Lake without writing SQL, using a chat interface inside the Databricks workspace. Because it is part of Databricks, setup is straightforward if you are already on the platform, but it is not available as a standalone product. Context and governance lean on Unity Catalog, giving data teams some control over what data Genie can access, though fine-grained prompt-level configuration is limited compared to purpose-built agent builders.
